Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, As October comes to an end (yet another month gone by too fast!), we come to All Hallow's Eve, the vigil of the great solemnity of All Saints. While Halloween in America tends to go a spooky route, as Catholics our celebration of the saints is quite important. Look around your neighborhood, and you will see mock graveyards, giant skeletons, and any number of other reminders of death. PASTOR’S NOTE: 2022 ANNUAL APPEAL   Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, St. Pius X is a vibrant community of over 2,300 registered households. We will celebrate over 100 baptisms in this calendar year, along with 17 weddings. The parish is host to Fairfield Edge Middle School Youth Ministry and Fairfield Life Teen High School Youth Ministry, a new and exciting young adult outreach, and a thriving Senior Ministry. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, “Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer” (Rom. 12:12). These encouraging words from St. Paul to the Catholic community in Rome have resonated with me for many years. Part of their resonance, I think, comes from the fact that they can be so challenging to put into action, yet I deeply desire to live them fully. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This week, the priests of the Diocese of Bridgeport will participate in our Convocation. From Sunday evening to Wednesday afternoon, we will gather at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington, NY for a few days of prayer, fraternity, and formation. I am very excited to hear from our keynote speaker, Dr. Scott Hahn.
