Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This week, the priests of the Diocese of Bridgeport will participate in our Convocation. From Sunday evening to Wednesday afternoon, we will gather at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington, NY for a few days of prayer, fraternity, and formation. I am very excited to hear from our keynote speaker, Dr. Scott Hahn. If you are not familiar with Dr. Hahn’s work, I encourage you to look up his books, watch videos of his conferences on YouTube, and get to know this inspiring man of faith. The convocation of priests is always a good opportunity to reconnect as brothers in ministry, to find renewal in our shared vocation, and to get to know one another better. Please pray for the priests of the Diocese of Bridgeport during these days!
For most parishes in the Diocese, Masses will be cancelled for a few days. However, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week, our 8:30 AM Mass will take place as usual – Fr. Blatchford has responsibilities with Courage International that require his presence here in Connecticut, and he has graciously offered to celebrate Mass each day while Fr. Silva and I are away.
