March 1 - Monday of the 2nd Week of Lent - 7 PM Missa Cantata in the Extraordinary Form

Latin/English texts: www.divinumofficium.com/cgi-bin/missa/missa.pl

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Waving to the guys and a nod of the head to Father C.

CatholicPsychWhat's the relationship between silence and prayer?

Silence is the *beginning* of a true encounter with God. It is in the quiet that we are able to hear the voice of God.

We are SO far away from silence in our lives though! It's really hard to be truly quiet and recollected, and oftentimes silence can be very uncomfortable. Because of this, our minds usually end up employing ways to distract us so that we avoid silence. โ โ
โฃโ €โ โ
How, then, can we learn to enter into true silence? โ โ
โฃโ €โ โ
Mindfulness is a tool that can help us handle all of the distractions the mind throws our way. Once we're able to better handle the distractions, we are more able to enter into real silence.โ โ  From that place of silence, we are more receptive to an encounter with God. โ โ
