About Parent Life

Image is of St. Therese of Lisieux’s parents, Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin. Canonized Oct. 18, 2015. Fun Fact: They are the first married couple to be canonized at the same time.

At St. Pius X, we realize that we can not reach and transform youth while disregarding their families.  St. Pius X is implementing Life Teen’s newest ministry, Parent Life.  Parents are the primary catechists of their children. Parent Life will allow St. Pius X to work together with Parents to “lead teens closer to Christ.”  It is our desire to help parents strengthen their personal relationship with Christ as well as embrace their role in their teen’s faith journey.

In response to the growing number of teens and parents in Life Teen, and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, this new ministry initiative is set to begin September 2018.

“Through the grace of the sacrament of marriage, parents receive the responsibility and privilege of evangelizing their children. Parents should initiate their children at an early age into the mysteries of the faith of which they are the “first heralds” for their children… Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God. The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents.” Catechism of the Catholic Church 2225-2226

Parent Life is designed to give parents the opportunity to support their parish youth ministry program while strengthening their own relationship with Christ and His Church.  Similar to Life Teen and EDGE, it is centered on the Eucharist, dedicated to Mary and obedient to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Parent Life simply seeks to lead parents closer to Christ!

Mission Statement: Strengthening the Bonds between Parents, Teens and Christ

Between September and May, there will be monthly gatherings called Parent Life Nights. Parents will come together in fellowship and grow in their relationship with Christ and His Catholic Church while strengthening marriages and family life. Each night will present a different teaching accompanied with breakout sessions that will allow parents to go deeper in their faith.

Sundays from 6-8pm     I     Faith Center Munro Room

The night will occur at the same time that the teens for Life Teen will meet. Parent Life and Life Teen will both run from 6-7:30pm in different buildings and both will end at 8pm in the chapel after a Holy Half Hour of Family Adoration. Our teen Worship Band will be also be present to lead us into prayer during Adoration.
