At this time I wish to thank Ruth Cernera for all of her exceptional efforts that helped formed our two fine Children's Choirs and our Youth Cantors that lead our singing at the 9:00a.m. Family Mass. For those who may have been away last weekend, I announced at the conclusion of each Mass that Ruth has decided to step back from her leadership position. She has been flying out to Seattle to spend quality time with her aging mother and finds that this time is precious. There is no way that she can keep up with the children's choir, prepare the youth cantors and play at the Sunday 7:30a.m. Mass each week and find time to be with her mom and her family. Ruth has many gifts, but the gift of "bi-location" isn't one of them. Her talents, gentle spirit, prayerfulness, teaching ability, love of the Church and the Faith as well as her kindness and patience with the little ones is what makes Ruth such a wonderful choir director and person. The good news is that she will remain a St. Pius X Parishioner. In closing, I wish simply to applaud Ruth's ministerial work and thank her on behalf of our entire Community of Faith. We are all much richer for having had the good fortune of having had the good fortune of having such a kind and gifted woman of faith on our parish staff.
